It looks like a countdown is imminent. How can it be the end of another calendar year already? The stores are loading up with Christmas supplies when in reality many folks adapt well to ordering online.
What happened to those favorite toys of yesteryear and standing in long lines to grab a ticket and hopefully get a Play Station to brighten someone’s Christmas morning? Now it is the Amazon trucks which show up non-stop boxes tumbling down and anticipation standing at bay. Then there is instant gratification and hopes of something special making this one stand out. Then grab and drive to a corner. The one just off Clemson Boulevard has a new regular guy sitting there holding a sign and waiting. I do not see too many people stop. It is a different world now. He could have a gun; he could be legitimate, or it could all be a swindle.
High school football playoffs will begin in a few weeks and of course there are the local state favorites. You are either a Clemson Tiger or a South Carolina Gamecock. And for year 2025 it is not pleasant to be either one regarding their football records. Next year. Has the transfer portal changed things that much? What happened to playing ball for the “love of the game”?
Look at Hobby Lobby in that shopping center behind the Texas Roadhouse. Grab your lights, new decorations, and ideas and even a few gifts. Venture up the road to the Marshalls Home Goods and see a variety of decorations and gifts. There are holiday shops popping up between Easley, Anderson, and Greenville everywhere. In the meantime, take time to people watch. You will be amazed at what you may see. Take time to sit down and have a simple cup of coffee or tea. If it is after 5’ o clock, go for the wine or a beer. That makes the looking better and the mind relax. I guess the most important thing I am trying to say is you better enjoy it- 2025 is about to become history. So, take some deep breaths, visit downtown Easley, Anderson or Greenville. Feel the chill in the air and a jump in your step. It just does not get any better than this.
