Oh February why do you tease
And daunt us just to please
Your desires and jealousies
For not being first!
You herald spring’s arrival
March is not your rival
You stand alone
Between winter and spring.
You say there is no other
Who claims to be a lover
As you every fourteenth
With flowers and candy hearts.
February, with your fleeting days,
You bring a mix of chills and rays.
A month of contrasts, that is true,
With skies of gray and hopeful blue.
You bring the promise of warmer days,
Of budding trees and sunlit rays.
But you can also be cruel and cold,
With icy winds and storms untold.
Yet, despite your fickle ways,
We find joy in your shortened days.
For you bring love, hope and cheer,
To brighten up the winter drear.
So, February, we embrace your stay,
And cherish every single day.
For you are a month of change and growth,
A time for love and dreams to both.
