“Littles” Cooking Class

Registration is now open for the upcoming cooking class being held at the historic Belton Train Depot on Thursday evening, Nov. 14.

“For the minimal price of $30, attendees can enjoy a holiday cooking class featuring miniature canapes, petit fours, and other tiny treats led by Chef Chris Moree,” said BAMA executive director Abigail Burden.

Stations where cooks can learn about and construct tasty hors d’ouevre will be set up.  These stations will be led by the chef and his culinary arts students at the Anderson Districts 1 and 2 Career and Technology Center in Williamston.

Patrons can expect to learn to cook and craft bruschetta with olive tapenade and caponata, blini with smoked salmon, shrimp salad in mini phyllo cups, chocolate truffles with various liquor flavorings, and mini caramel apple pies served in shot glasses.

Advanced registration is required by calling 864-338-7400 and reserving space for you and your friends by November 1.  The class is limited to 40 people.

This event is being held in conjunction with The Belton Area Museum Association’s (BAMA) newest exhibit- Littles: Miniature Collections.

Littles is an exhibit featuring small items for a collection, such as thimbles, spoons, shot glasses, blown glass animals, doll house furniture, trinkets, curio items, snuff boxes, and other tiny objects. Thousands of objects are on display!

The exhibit opened with a celebration on Sunday, Sept. 8.  In addition to viewing the exhibit, attendees enjoyed a craft making station creating tiny everyday objects from clay, a dessert station featuring tiny treats, and a scavenger hunt looking for the smallest of items in the exhibit.

The exhibit will be open to the public free of charge until Feb. 8, 2025. Museum hours are Wednesday through Friday 9 – 2 and Saturdays 10 – noon. Or call the museum at 864-338-7400 to arrange group tours.
