Joyce Moran, Executive Officer (right) and Sandra Bullock, Victim Services Coordinator (left), accept a donation for the Southern Virginia Child Advocacy Center from Stephanie Hodges (center) of Doe Run Christian Church.  Participants in the church’s Vacation Bible School program collected stuffed animals, toys, books, clothes, and coats for abused children who are serviced by the SVCAC.  In addition to the items collected, the children also presented a cash offering of $628.38 for the center’s building fund.

“This is just amazing!” said Moran, “Not only did these children give of their own favorite toys and clothes, but they have made a significant monetary contribution as well. It warms my heart to see such generosity and selflessness from ones so young. I know their parents and church leaders must be extremely proud of them.”

The mission of the Southern Virginia Child Advocacy Center, located at 300 South Main Street in Rocky Mount, is to promote the wellbeing of abused and neglected children through Treatment, Advocacy, Prevention, and Education.  For additional information on the center and its programs, contact Joyce Moran, Executive Officer at 484-5566 or visit the website www.southernvacac.org.
