An estimated 200+ people were present to enjoy excellent music from The Lost and Found, Acoustic Endeavors, Locust Mountain Boys, and Windfall.
The Blue Mountain Festival was held today and what a day it was. This year brought beautiful sunny skies, light breezes and temperatures in the mid 70s. This was a sharp contrast from last year's debut to cold rain. Accessing this venue was much improved as we expected it to be. A good heavy gravel road was ready to take on whatever Mother Nature had in store; though thankfully not needed.

Food and merchandise vendors were there to serve the people's needs. No bonfire this year due to the ban in place on open air fires. Security Officers were on hand to make sure the venue remaind family friendly.
Whether tossing the ball, rolling down the hill or tossing frisbee parents and children spent time together while enjoying the music. Tents were all over the place for those that chose to camp out on site. As word of this gets out, this event is likely to continue growing by leaps and bounds.
As dark started to set in, the attire began changing from shorts to jeans. Lights began coming on transforming a normally dark hollow into a beautifully lit stage. The kids took out their lighted trinkets and the adults turned on their illuminated cups. Frisbees and balls were put away as everyone settled in for the evening bands.
The evening moved along but the crowed only increased. More people started to dance. I guess the darkness brings security in people's confidence that no one will recognize them in the dance area. The sky filled with more stars than I have seen in a long time. The absence of street lights gives the weaker stars a chance to shine. Maybe next year I will consider bringing a tent and the family out to spend the night.
