Callaway, VA-- Jimmy Mullins and Rodney Cook are turning ASA Franklin County Speedway into their own little playground. Both drivers proved their mettle during twin 35-lap Pro-Line Trailer Sales Late Model Stock Car races for the Jack's Mountain Quarry 250 Saturday July 19th.

Cook took the Family Pharmacy Pole Award in qualifying with a 14.061 second lap. The top four cars were inverted after qualifying and that put rookie points leader Travis Hurt on the inside pole. Rick Sigmon, ASA Joe Gibbs Driven National points leader Jimmy Mullins and Cook lead the seventeen car field to the green flag.

It sounds like a broken record in 2008 but the racing during the first 35-lap race had fans on their feet from start to finish. Cook prevailed after a hard fought battle from his fourth place starting position. Sigmon followed Cook to the finish line and was followed by Hurt, Mullins and newcomer Jerry Scott to complete the top five.

Mullins turned the tables in the second race by leading from flag to flag. His job was far from easy as Cook put all kinds of pressure on Mullins. Cook rubbed, nudged and did everything he could but could not get by the crafty veteran. Cook settled for second with Hurt, Sigmon and Mike Dudley rounding out the top five finishers.

Twelve year old sensation Michael McGuire took his second PMZ Group Mod4 division win in a row. McGuire passed leader Tim Hogan with five laps to go to take the checkered flag in the 30-lap feature. B.J. Hodges, point leader Jonathan Smith and Douglas Morgan were next to cross the finish line.

Tommy Adams, Jr. took another checkered flag in Berglund Automotive Street Stock action. Adams, Jr. finished the thirty lap distance ahead of Kendall Ramsey, Teddy Lawless, Brian Sutphin and Ernie Gillespie.

Jerry Ramey took the win in the 30-lap Alan Mullins Automotive UCAR division feature. Randy Argabright was second with Bill Lipes, Eddie Scott and Charles Seagraves close in tow for third through fifth.

Sammy Brookes took the Sleep Safe Beds Super Mini Cup feature over Donald McIntosh, Damien Inge, Derek Law and Jason Styron.

The Pro-Line Trailer Sales Late Model Stock Cars have the week off on July 26th as the ISCARS Touring Series comes to ASA Franklin County Speedway for a 150-lap race. Street Stock, Mod4, Super Mini Cup and UCAR races are also on the schedule.
